Gambling works best when it stays entertainment. Luckydays offers deposit limits, session timers and breaks from 24 hours to three months, alongside self-exclusion for longer pauses. This page covers the controls we provide, the national support available in the UK, and the warning signs worth watching for.
Why this matters
Play that costs more than you intended, or takes time you meant for something else, stops being fun. The tools below help you stay in control before that happens.
Signs gambling is getting out of hand
Watch for these behaviours — they show up before the damage becomes visible:
- Chasing losses by depositing again immediately after a losing session
- Gambling with money earmarked for bills, rent or other commitments
- Lying to family or friends about how much time or money you spend
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when you try to stop or cut down
- Neglecting work, study or social plans because gambling comes first
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to keep playing
One or two of these occasionally might mean nothing. Three or more happening regularly means it's time to act.
Questions worth asking yourself
Answer honestly — this is a self-check, not a diagnosis:
- Do you gamble longer than you planned, more sessions per week than a month ago?
- Have you tried to stop or cut back and found you couldn't?
- Does losing leave you thinking about the next deposit before you've logged out?
- Do you gamble to escape worry, guilt or other uncomfortable feelings?
- Have you lied about your gambling to someone whose opinion you value?
- Has gambling damaged a relationship, a job or an opportunity?
Three or more "yes" answers suggest gambling is causing harm. The help resources below are free and confidential.
Our control tools
You can set limits on deposits and session length, or pause your account entirely. All of them are managed through the Responsible Gaming section once you're logged in.
Deposit limits
Cap the amount you can add to your account on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets. Raising a limit takes 24 hours to apply; lowering one is immediate.
Session limits
Set a maximum on how long you stay logged in and playing, measured daily, weekly or monthly. When the timer runs out, you're logged out automatically. The limit resets at the start of the next period.
Take a break
Put your account on hold for 24 hours, one week, one month, two months or three months. During that time you cannot log in, deposit or play. The break is immediate and cannot be shortened once applied.
Self-exclusion
A longer pause, available when shorter breaks are not enough. Contact our support team at [email protected] to arrange it — the minimum period and reinstatement process are explained when you apply.
Account closure
Close your account permanently through the Responsible Gaming section or by writing to support. Closure takes effect immediately. Any balance is returned to you via your registered withdrawal method.
Practical limits that work
Set a weekly deposit cap before your first session — something you can afford to lose without affecting rent, bills or savings. Treat that money as spent, like a cinema ticket.
Use session limits rather than playing until you feel like stopping. Two hours twice a week is easier to control than an open-ended evening.
Keep gambling and daily life separate. If you share a device with a partner or children, set up parental controls (Net Nanny, Qustodio) so the site is not accessible to minors.
Avoid playing when tired, upset or drunk. Decisions made in those states rarely feel right the next day.
If you find yourself thinking about gambling during work, or planning your week around it, take a break of at least two weeks and reassess honestly when it ends.

Blocking software
Install Gamban (gamban.com) or BetBlocker (betblocker.org, free, works across desktop and mobile) to block access to gambling sites on every device you use. Both work even when you're logged out or using a different browser.
Protecting minors
You must be 18 or over (18+) to use our site. If you share a computer, tablet or phone with anyone under 18, set up parental-control software (Qustodio, Net Nanny, built-in iOS/Android controls) so they cannot access gambling sites, even accidentally.
Gambling should never be normalised around children. Keep payment cards and account details private, and do not leave a device logged in where a minor could reach it.
